Plate Details

9951 EJ is a dateless registration — one of the most desirable formats in the UK personalised plate market. Dateless plates carry no year identifier, which means they can be transferred to a vehicle of any age with no restriction. This flexibility, combined with their short format and limited availability, makes dateless plates among the most sought-after on the market.

Registration History

9951 EJ was first made available in March 1990. The original issuing office for this combination is Cardiganshire C.C.. Local council and county borough offices issued plates within their geographic area — the issuing office identifies the regional origin of the registration. 9951 EJ has DVLA auction history, having been offered at a DVLA auction in March 1990. The DVLA cherished transfer programme was launched in 1989, opening previously reserved registrations to the public for the first time. Plates are selected for DVLA auctions based on their perceived collectability and desirability — an auction appearance is a recognised indicator of a registration's historical market standing and collector appeal.
