Plate Details

AP21 COT is a current-style registration issued in March 2021. Current style plates use a two-letter area code, a two-digit year code (21), and a three-letter random sequence. The 21 area code identifies it as originating from the Norwich DVLA office, covering East of England. Under DVLA rules, this plate can be assigned to any vehicle first registered on or after March 2021 — it cannot make a vehicle appear newer than it actually is.

Investment & Value

AP21 COT is a current-style registration. While the current format is still issued, specific combinations with strong personal associations — particularly short, meaningful initials — command significant premiums on the secondary market. The combination Riot and Plot is a common name, which significantly increases demand — plates that clearly represent popular names consistently attract competitive bidding and hold their value well. Personalised number plates are a tangible, portable asset. Unlike most purchases, a desirable plate retains and can appreciate in value over time. NewReg has been trading since 1989 and can advise on valuation — call 01772 566400.

Plates are not a guaranteed investment — values depend on demand, plate format, and letter combination.
